The Ballad of the Broken Lad

He was sittin’ on the curb in the cold moonlight,
No job, no coin, no future in sight.
Schoolin’ failed, the world was cruel and stark,
His fire near out, just a whisperin’ spark.

Empty bottles rolled as the tavern doors closed,
Dreams long buried where sorrow grows.
But out from the mist with a clank of sword,
Came a pirate bold with a word unheard:

“Come aboard, lad, join me crew,
We’ll teach ye ropes and steer ye true.
The sea’s a cruel witch, but a fair old guide,
She’ll toughen yer bones and fill ye with pride.
A rock makes a man, not a featherbed,
And joy awaits just up ahead!”
So if life’s adrift and yer heart be sore,
Come to Blackbeard World and sail no more ashore!

The lad stood up, left the past behind,
A storm in his heart and a stronger mind.
Swabbed the deck and climbed the mast,
Learned to fight and to think fast.

No more beggin’ fate for a gentle hand,
He carved his course across the land.
Learned to speak bold, to keep his word,
And command respect with every sword.

Now he’s captain proud with a fine first mate,
A ship of scallywags and a twist of fate.
From despair to dawn, from a scorned young pup,
To raisin’ his glass and hollerin’ “Drink up!”

So come aboard, ye weary soul,
There’s gold in grit and a brighter goal.
If life’s not what ye thought it’d be,
Then set yer course and sail with me!

Live full, live loud, where ye belong,
At Blackbeard World, where hearts grow strong!
