Abaft the smoke and cannon’s cry,
On Charleston’s docks ‘neath twilight sky,
There stood she, fair Arabella bright,
Glowin’ like the moon’s own light.
And there he stood, that dread sea-dog,
With eyes like storms and voice like fog.
But in her gaze, the Jolly Roger fell
A pirate caught in love’s own spell.
Oh Arabella, heart so bold,
You tamed the rogue with soul o’ gold.
From blood and plunder he did veer,
When love’s true voice rang sweet and clear.
Let the stars above bear witness now
She stole his oath, she stole his vow.
With her hand upon the helm, so brave,
She steered him from the watery grave.
They sailed beneath a canvas dome,
The sea, their bed, the stars their home.
Her laughter danced o’er every wave,
No treasure more could Blackbeard crave.
Her hair flew free, the breeze her choir,
And lit his world with newfound fire.
The crew would whisper, drunk with awe,
“She’s the law what Blackbeard saw.”
Oh Arabella, fierce and fair,
She caught the wind and held it there.
No need for map, nor sextant bright,
For love became his north and light.
With her hand upon the helm, so brave,
She steered him from the watery grave.
Avast! He once was wrath and flame
A name to chill, the Blackbeard name.
But she, with grace and spirit true,
Bamboozled him ‘neath skies so blue.
She sailed straight into Blackbeard’s World,
Where tempests raged and flags unfurled.
No fear she showed, nor turned away
She brought the dawn to darkest day.
Her voice did echo through the mist,
And every ghost of sea was kissed.
The crew stood still, their hearts set free,
As Bella claimed his legacy.
Arabella, star so bright,
She battened down his soul each night.
The cannon’s roar, he left behind,
For every breath with her in kind.
So raise yer cup, ye sailors all,
To love what makes the fiercest fall.
For even Blackbeard, scourge o’ sea,
Knelt at the helm of sweet Arabee.
